Para comemorar os 100 posts, a centésima postagem é a discografia de uma das minhas bandas favoritas: Smashing Pumpkins, sendo sua formação original Billy Corgan (vocalista), James Iha (guitarrista), D'arcy Wretzky (baixista) e Jimmy Chamberlain (baterista).
Nos anos noventa, nas sombras de bandas como Nirvana e Pearl Jam, eles se destacaram após o CD Siamese Dream e alcançaram o auge de sua carreira com o álbum Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness, com hits como Tonight, Tonight, 1979 e Bullet With Butterfly Wings.
A fama da banda foi diminuindo após os álbuns Adore e Machina. A banda acabou por romper e seus membros se envolveram em projetos paralelos. Billy Corgan e Jimmy Chanberlain fundaram a banda Zwan, que lançou somente um álbum. Billy decidiu seguir carreira solo, lançando também somente um álbum, The Future Embrace.
Em 2007, Billy Corgan e Jimmy Chamberlain anunciaram o retorno da banda, lançando o CD Zeitgeist, trazendo a felicidade de alguns fãs e decepcionando outros. Jimmy saiu da banda, sendo que hoje o único que resta da formação original é o vocalista Billy Corgan, que planeja lançar um novo CD dos Smashing Pumpkins em junho desse ano.
